A great photo by Heather Burkman, but no; these are not our expert trained leaders.
The Escorted Rides
We offer optional escorted versions of these routes:
18-mile
35-mile
55-mile
100-mile
There is no extra chage for this service.
Expert leaders will ride with your group to cheer you on and help you have a teriffic day.
If you would rather do the ride on your own, that's great! If you want to do the escorted version of the ride, no need to tell us in advance -- just register as usual.

IMPORTANT TRVIA (I love that phrase!)
The way this works is that the escorted ride leaders will begin the day at the Manhattan start line and depart with the cyclists from there. They will follow the route to the Brooklyn start line, where the Brooklyn cyclists who want to do the escorted verson of the ride will join the group. That means:
1. If you are starting the escorted ride from Brooklyn you are waiting for the Manhattan riders to arrive. They SHOULD be on time, but if they are a few minutes late, don't freak out man! We have not forgotten you -- they are on the way.
2. This means that the Manhattan riders and the Brooklyn riders will be pedaling together. So if you're starting from one locaiton and your friends are starting from another, it will be easy for you to join up.
3. If you start the escorted ride in Brooklyn the escort leaders who begain their day in Manhattan will PROBABLY end their day in Manhattan too -- it's up to you to follow the route on the last easy 13 miles back to Brooklyn (or you can always hop the subway!)
Pay attention to the times that the escorted rides begin -- you should already be fed, dressed, been to the batrhrom, have your water bottles filled, completely ready to rock.
It is quite common for people to start the day with the escorted ride, and then decide later that they don't need help, so they pedal off on their own. Nothing wrong with that -- just please tell the escort leaders that you're taking off, so they don't go looking for you.
